This summer, Preservation Arts is working to conserve the grand ballroom at Filoli Historic House & Garden to its original magnificence. Conservation encompasses the treatment of the baseboards, a partial regilding of the molding and decorative elements, and cleaning of the Ernest Peixotto murals that span the walls of the ballroom. We are extremely thankful to our partners at Filoli and invite you to visit the estate to observe our experts in action to see the transformation. Inspired by this opulent project, the summer edition of our quarterly newsletter focuses on conservation treatments that feature gold and gilding, from decorative arts and ornate frames to contemporary sculpture.
