works on paper & archival framing

Paper conservation addresses the treatment of works of art on paper and paper materials, including prints, drawings, paintings on paper, screens, collage, documents, library materials, and scrapbooks. Requiring a delicate hand, paper conservation can address issues such as cockling, creases or tears, mold, foxing, stains, discoloration, adhesive removal, backing removal, and material stability.

The paper department also replaces non-archival framing materials such as acidic mats, hinges, hardware, and glazing, which can contribute to the deterioration of works on paper over time.
